Prophet Seth (Shith) is believed to be the son of Prophet Adam, peace be upon them. His name means 'gift of God' because God granted him to Adam and Eve after Cain killed Abel. While he is not mentioned by name in the Quran, he is referenced in a Hadith where Abu Dharr narrated that God sent down fifty scriptures upon Seth. Adam taught him the hours of day and night, their respective worships, and forewarned him of the Great Flood. He is considered the common ancestor of humanity today, as all other lines of Adam's descendants are said to have eventually ended. His shrine is located in Basira village, Tafilah Governorate.
