Prophet Ezra (Huzayr or Uzair) was a righteous prophet and scholar of Israel. When the Torah was completely lost during the Babylonian exile, God inspired Ezra with its complete knowledge, allowing him to rewrite it for his people, who loved him immensely for restoring their religious law. He is believed to be the one who passed by a ruined city, died by God's command for a hundred years, and was resurrected, as described in Surah al-Baqarah. His tomb is located near Ayn Huzayr in Salt, Balqa.
