Tomb of Companion Ja'far bin Abi Talib

Companion Ja'far bin Abi Talib was the first cousin of the Prophet Muhammad and the older brother of Ali. He led the early Muslim migration to Abyssinia and was famous for his eloquence, kindness to the poor, and bravery. He was martyred at the Battle of Mu'tah in 8 AH after both of his arms were severed while holding the Muslim standard. The Prophet declared that God replaced his arms with wings of rubies with which he flies in Paradise. He is buried in Al-Mazar al-Janubi, Karak.
