Prophet David (Dawud) was a great prophet and king of Israel who slew the giant Goliath. He is praised extensively in the Quran for his unwavering devotion, beautiful voice in reciting the Psalms (Zabur), and the wisdom and decisive speech granted to him by God. His shrine is located in the Al-Mazar al-Shamali area of Irbid Governorate, 58 km north of the capital city of Amman.
