Shrine of Prophet Hud, peace be upon him

Prophet Hud was sent by God to the tribe of Ad, who inhabited the sandy hills of Al-Ahqaf in the southern Arabian Peninsula. He is mentioned seven times in the Quran, and a Surah is named in his honor. He warned his people against arrogance, and when they persisted in disbelief, they were destroyed by a devastating, cold wind. His shrine is located in the village of Hud in Jerash Governorate, on a scenic hilltop northeast of Jerash University.
