Prophet Elijah (Ilyas) was a 9th-century BC prophet of the Israelites who spent much of his life in the wilderness, wearing a leather belt and long hair. He was sent to the people of Baalbek who worshipped an idol named Baal. His shrine is located in the village of Listib (Khirbet al-Wahadnah) in Ajloun, close to Tell Mar Elias.
