Prophet Job (Ayyub) was an immensely wealthy prophet who owned vast lands in Hauran. He was blessed with many children, but God tested him with the loss of all his wealth, his children, and a severe illness that afflicted his entire body except for his heart and tongue, with which he praised God continuously. His extraordinary patience became legendary. He recovered and lived to the age of 93 or older. His shrine sits on a prominent hill in Salt, Balqa Governorate, surrounded by centuries-old oak trees.
