Companion Dirar bin al-Azwar was a legendary warrior, knight, and champion of the Islamic conquests of Syria, celebrated for his unparalleled bravery and skill in battle. He frequently fought bare-chested, striking fear into Byzantine forces. He died of the Amwas Plague in 18 AH and is buried in Ghor al-Awsat, Balqa Governorate.
